What is the Kannada Typing?
Kannada typing lets you write Kannada on any computer or phone without installing software. Type with the Nudi (KGP) keyboard layout used in Karnataka government offices and typing exams, or type the way words sound in English letters — 'namaskAra' becomes 'ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ'.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Unicode and Nudi?
Unicode Kannada works in every app and font. Nudi 5 and older used their own encoding, which shows correctly only in Nudi fonts — that's why old documents look like 'PÀ£ÀßqÀ' on other computers.
Is this the same layout as Nudi?
Yes — the KGP layout from Kannada Ganaka Parishat, which Nudi uses and the Government of Karnataka made its standard.
How do I install a Kannada font?
Download it, double-click the .ttf file and choose Install. The fonts here are free under the SIL Open Font License.
Where can I get Nudi?
From Kannada Ganaka Parishat's website, kagapa.com.
