Frequently asked questions
Why is in-hand salary lower than CTC ÷ 12?
CTC includes the employer's PF and gratuity, which you don't receive monthly, and your own PF, professional tax and income tax are deducted from what remains.

Many employers include gratuity at 4.81% of basic in CTC. It is paid only when you leave after five years of service.
What is professional tax?
A state tax on employment, usually ₹200 a month (₹2,400–₹2,500 a year). Some states, such as Delhi, don't charge it.
Why does my payslip differ slightly?
